Behind Closed Doors

Chapter 29

Brian turned back around to Bailey's crib and smoothed down her curls. His thoughts were completely jumbled. The dream he had experienced the night before still haunted his mind. He made love to Sasha in the dream. But they hadn't just made love. It was so intense and so passionate and so vivid that he actually felt like it had happened when he awakened. He didn't feel like it was the first time though. He felt like it had become a part of their lives together. He felt very strange and confused. Never in his life had a dream left him feeling like this one did. He felt as if he were in a fog that he couldn't find his way out of. He could not and would not deny he was attracted to Sasha. He had always found her interesting. It wasn't so much her looks as it was her personality. While Sasha wasn't plain or ugly by any means, she wasn't drop dead gorgeous either. She had a wholesome look to her that he found oddly appealing. She didn't wear a lot of make up. She had a simple shoulder length haircut that required very little attention paid to it. Brian had seen her glam up on occasion as well. 'Sasha definitely has the ability to be beautiful if she wants to.' He thought silently. He sighed. "Face it." He reasoned with himself. "You were exhausted and drunk off your ass. That is why you had the dream. Sasha was in it because she was on your mind when you fell asleep." His head was a pounding reminder to him of just how much alcohol he had consumed the night before. He stroked Bailey's curls again. "Looks like both you and I will probably sleep the day away baby girl." He leaned down and kissed the sleeping child.

"Daddy! Daddy! Look what Sasha did to my hair!" Hannah exclaimed bounding into the room. She twirled in circles trying show Brian her hair style.

"Hannah, I think your daddy will be able to see better if you stand still for a minute!" Sasha laughed joining them.

Hannah stopped spinning long enough to show Brian that Sasha had French braided her hair to the nape of her neck, making a low ponytail which she had then inverted to form a twist with the ends curled under and ribbon to finish off the look.

"You look beautiful Hannah!" Brian said picking up his daughter and kissing her cheek.

"I know!" Hannah replied kissing him back. "Sasha does good work huh?"

Brian set Hannah down. "Yes, she does sweetie. Why don't you go find your shoes so you will be ready to go when Sasha is?"

"'kay." Hannah nodded and dashed back into her room.

"You do realize you're going to have to teach me how to do that because she is going to want to wear her hair like that to school every day from now on!" Brian chuckled.

Sasha laughed. "I was surprised at how she was able to sit still while I did it. I was never still when Kelli tried to do my hair."

"That is probably because she was your sister and you didn't want to impress her with your good behavior!"

"You are probably right!" Sasha agreed.

Hannah and Tyler both entered Bailey's room. "Isn't Bailey coming with us?" Tyler asked.

"No. Bailey is still a little sick so I think she should stay with me today." Brian replied.

"You look sick too daddy. Do you want me to stay home and take care of you?" Hannah asked wrinkling her brow.

Sasha tried not to laugh. "I think your daddy will get better faster if we stick to our plans and let him have a little peace and quiet today."

Hannah seemed fine with that explanation. "OK. Are we 'bout ready to leave? I've never been to your house before Sasha. Do you have toys to play with?"

"She is an adult Hannah! Of course she doesn't have toys!" Tyler said rolling his eyes.

"I might surprise you Tyler!" Sasha giggled. "Why don't the 2 of you go ahead to the car and I will be down in a minute." She directed.

"I get to ride in the front seat!" Tyler called racing from the room with Hannah hot on his heels.

"I've heard 2 aspirin and a beer will cure any hang over." Sasha winked at Brian as she left the room.

Brian laughed and shook his head. "Maybe I'll try that." He followed Sasha out of the room. "Wait. I need to give you some money for today." He said heading toward the bedroom.

"Don't worry about it Brian. I still have money left over from last night."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. Don't worry." She hugged him. "I'll have the kids back around 4:00. They are going to help me fix dinner. Tyler picked the menu."

"Tyler picked the menu?" Brian asked cautiously.

"Tacos." Sasha smiled.

Brian breathed a sigh of relief. "Have fun. Thanks again Sasha."

Sasha smiled. "2 aspirin and a beer." She called out when she reached the landing.
