Behind Closed Doors

Chapter 55

"Here you go." Brian said setting a small salad in front of her. "It is Romaine lettuce and I left off the tomatoes since you told Hannah you don't like them."

"I can't believe you remembered I prefer Romaine and don't like tomatoes!" Sasha stated pouring dressing onto her salad.

Brian smiled. "I try to pay attention to what the important people in my life say, no matter how insignificant it may seem."

"Thank you." Sasha blushed. She took a bite of her salad. "This is delicious Brian!"

"Thanks Sawsh. This part is store bought. I hope I don't poison you with what I actually cooked!"

Sasha laughed. "I'm sure it will be great Brian. It smells incredible!"

"It is one of my mom's recipes. I called her this morning and asked her how to make it. I hope I got all of the ingredients right!"

"That is really cool Brian! I admire how close you are to your family!"

"Yeah." He replied. "I guess I'm pretty lucky. We are all really close." He picked up his champagne glass. "I think we need to toast."

"And what are we toasting to?" Sasha inquired raising up her glass as well.

"To putting the past behind us and moving on with the future." He stated moving his glass toward hers.

Sasha giggled softly. "OK. 'To putting the past behind us and moving on with the future.' Whatever that means!" She echoed, clanking glasses with Brian. "Did you say you had some sort of business proposal for me?" She reminded him, setting her salad plate aside.
