Chapter 56
Brian set his salad plate aside as well and reached for the serving utensils for the main dishes. "Yes. I do." He replied filling a plate. He handed it to Sasha who thanked him and handed him her empty plate in return. He filled it as well and took a bite of chicken while formulating in his mind what to say to Sasha about the ideas he had been mulling over for several days.
"This is really good Brian!" Sasha declared after taking her first bite. "My compliments to the chef!"
Brian blushed. "Thanks Sasha! I'm glad you like it. It has always been one of my favorite dishes from my mom. This is the first time I've ever tried to cook it though so I'm happy it turned out!"
"It is delicious Brian! You did a great job!"
Brian poured himself another glass of champagne. "Would you like some more?" He asked Sasha.
"Yes please." Sasha replied holding her glass up for him to refill.
"OK. The business proposal." Brian said taking a sip from his glass. "Keep in mind nothing is set in stone. These are just ideas I have been going over in my head." Sasha nodded as he continued. "As I'm sure you remember, I mentioned when the divorce was final that 'Brileigh Productions' would be liquidated."
Sasha nodded. "Yes. I remember you saying that." She took a bite of potatoes. 'How could I forget?' She thought. 'I almost wound up in the emergency room that night.' She grimaced.
"Well, obviously the time has come to do that. I have everything ready to go for 'BTL, Enterprises.' The thing is, even though we could stay in the office we are in right now, I don't really want to."
"I can understand that." Sasha agreed. "You want a fresh start."
"Exactly! Here is what I'm thinking." He said setting down his fork. "The new business will focus more on music than it will on scripts, like it did in the past, so we won't really see that many clients in the office since I'll want to hear them sing and an office isn't a great place for doing that."
Sasha nodded. "Good point."
"Also, I'm going to be in Europe the beginning of next month for 2 weeks and touring most of the summer so we are not going to need a big office for a little while."
"Very true." Sasha replied quietly. 'Maybe I had the wrong idea about this dinner.' She thought. 'I think Brian is trying to tell me he doesn't need me anymore.'
