Behind Closed Doors

Chapter 60

Brian didn't like the look in Sasha's eyes. She looked frightened of him. He hadn't meant to scare her. He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it. "Please don't be frightened Sawsh. I was just wondering if you would dance with me?"

"Dance with you?" Sasha repeated raising her eyebrows.

Brian nodded. "Yes. Please?"

"I think I can do that." Sasha replied smiling with great relief. She looked at the table. "Should we clean up first?"

Brian shook his head. "We can take care of that later." He guided her down the hall; through a set of closed doors and into a room she had been in once or twice before. It was a room Brian and Leighanne had used for entertaining. There was a stereo system, a bar, a couple of small couches and a few overstuffed chairs. Brian led her to the center of the room and then let go of her hand. He walked over to the stereo, inserted a CD and quickly found the track he wanted to hear. He returned to Sasha and wrapped his arms around her waist.

Do me wrong, do me right,
Tell me lies but hold me tight,
Save your goodbyes for the morning light,
But don't let me be lonely tonight.

Sasha draped her arms around Brian's neck and rested her head on his shoulder as they swayed to the music. "I love James Taylor." She whispered.

Brian smiled. "I do too. His music is so soothing. He is one of my inspirations for learning to play the guitar."

Say goodbye and say hello,
Sure enough good to see you, but it's time to go,
Don't say yes but please don't say no,
I don't want to be lonely tonight.

"I've always wanted to learn to play the guitar."

"Maybe I could teach you sometime." Brian offered, placing a kiss on her collarbone.

Sasha giggled softly. "I don't think you want to attempt that Bri. I have absolutely no musical talent."

"No one is completely hopeless Sawsh. I'd love to teach you." He kissed her neck.

Go away then, damn you,
Go on and do as you please,
You ain't gonna see me gettin' down on my knees.
I'm undecided, and your heart's been divided,
You've been turning my world upside down.

Sasha felt her breath catch in her throat. 'I was right.' She thought as Brian kissed her neck again. A part of her wanted to just let him continue, to not say anything and just go with the moment. Logically, she knew that was impossible though. She knew she couldn't let Brian see her scars, or worse yet, some of the fresh cuts she knew had not yet healed. She had done better over the past month than she had the previous 2 months. She had only cut twice. Both times had occurred after a phone conversation with Eric. The last cuts were still fresh nevertheless and she didn't want Brian to know about her illness. Being held in his arms felt so good though. She didn't want to let go of what she was feeling. She felt safe in Brian's arms and that wasn't a feeling she experienced often.

Do me wrong, do me right (right now baby),
Go on and tell me lies but hold me tight.
Save your goodbyes for the morning light (morning light),
But don't let me be lonely tonight.
I don't want to be lonely tonight.
No, no, I don't want to be lonely tonight.

I don't want to be lonely tonight.

Brian kissed her cheek. He brought his hand to her face and gently guided her to turn her head toward him. He brought his lips down on hers. He pressed his body closer to hers. Sasha could feel his arousal against her thigh. The CD moved to the next song but she didn't hear it. All she heard was a voice telling her to stop before things went any further. She pushed back from Brian. She shook her head. "I can't do this Brian." She whispered. "I need to go home."
