Chapter 63
Sasha cried all the way back to her house. She couldn't believe the amount of crying she had been doing lately. Up until 3 months ago, she rarely cried. Crying was a sign of weakness. She had been taught to never show a weakness or vulnerability. Her tears seemed to fall like uncontrollable rain lately. The harder she tried to stop them, the more they seemed to come. 'Maybe it is another break through of some kind.' She reasoned. "I suppose I really should start going to see Dr. Travers again." She said aloud as she pulled her car into the garage and closed the door. She entered into her kitchen from the garage. She immediately noticed the light on her phone blinking, indicating she had messages. 'It is probably Brian, apologizing for coming on to me and still trying to figure out what an SI is.' She mused as she punched the button to hear the messages. 'I never should have had the champagne to drink. What am I supposed to say to him now? What if he figures out what I meant?' She unclenched her hands, which she didn't even remember clenching in the first place. The first message was from Kelli.
"Hey Sasha! Its Kelli. Max is going to be out of town for the next 4 weeks so I guess the dinners we moved to Thursdays so he could be there, will just be you, me and Brad for awhile. I'll call you early next week so we can work out where to meet this week. Love you kiddo!"
She punched the button and erased the message. As she suspected, the next message was from Brian.
"Hi Sawsh. I just wanted to apologize again for what happened tonight. I'm really sorry I upset you. I hope you will forgive me and give me a second chance. I really do want to get to know you better. You're a very special person Sasha. I truly do thank God for bringing you into my life. Sleep tight Sawsh. Dream of me! Just kiddin'!" He laughed. "I'll see you on Monday."
Sasha sighed. 'At least he didn't mention what I said tonight. Maybe he ignored it.' The words Brian had said at dinner echoed in her head. "I try to pay attention to what the important people in my life say, no matter how insignificant it may seem." She closed her eyes. 'I'm not off the hook yet.' She started to hit the button to erase his message but decided to keep it instead. "I might need something to cheer me up later this weekend." She said pushing the button for the next message. Her knees buckled and she started to shake when the next message began.
