Brian stood on the doorstep at Howie and Sam's house, silently practicing what he wanted to ask Sam about Sasha's statement the previous evening. He hoped he had chosen the right words to get an answer from Sam without her suspecting why he was asking. He stepped forward to ring the doorbell. Before he could ring the bell, the door flew open and he was nearly run over by Howie and Sam's daughter Caroline. .

"Dad! Hurry up! We're going to be late!" She called out over her shoulder. She picked up her dance bag and turned her head just before running into Brian. "Opps! Sorry!" She apologized. "Hi Uncle Brian! Come on in." She gestured stepping aside to allow Brian access to enter the house.

"Hi Caroline." He replied stepping through the doorway.

"Keep your toe shoes on Car! You have plenty of time!" Came another young female voice from down the hall. She rounded the corner and greeted Brian as well. "Hi Uncle Brian! Here to pick up the munchkins?"

Brian laughed softly at his God Daughter. "Hi Caleigh! I hope they weren't too much trouble last night." Brian couldn't help but stare at the 2 girls standing before him. Identical from their curly, shoulder length, strawberry blonde hair down to the light patch of freckles across their noses, they were the spitting image of their mom. The only way to tell them apart at this point was to look at the braces on their teeth. Caroline's were purple, while Caleigh's were bright pink. They were only 9 years old but already he could tell they were going to be beautiful young women in a few years.

"I'm never going to qualify for my toe shoes if I'm late for class again!" Caroline answered her sister frantically.

"Calm down Caroline!" Howie called out as he entered the foyer. "You'll get to class in plenty of time!" He reached out his hand and pulled Brian into a hug. "How are you doing?" He asked softly.

"I'm hangin' in there." Brian replied patting Howie on the back before disengaging himself from the hug.

"I need to take Caroline to dance class. Will you be here when I get back?"

Brian nodded. "Probably. I need to ask Sam a couple of questions."

"OK. She is in the nursery with Sean. Caleigh can show you the way." He picked up his keys from the table by the door. "I'll be back in about 20 minutes."

"See you then!" Brian turned to Caleigh. "You don't have to show me where Sean's room is. I've been there before."

Caleigh rolled her eyes. "I figured you had. Dad can be master of the obvious sometimes!" She giggled. "I'll be in the backyard with the kids if you need me."

"Thanks Caleigh." Brian replied heading up the stairs to the bedrooms. "Maybe we can play some one on one before I leave."

"Cool! Thanks Uncle Brian!"
