Chapter 68
Brian knocked softly on the door to the nursery before entering. "Hi Sam. Is it OK if I come in?" He asked quietly, afraid the baby might be asleep.
Sam looked up from the rocking chair where she was nursing her son and adjusted the blanket covering the nursing baby. "Sure Brian! Come on in." She gestured toward a chair beside her. "Pull up a chair."
Brian looked a little uneasy. "I can come back when you're done." He offered.
"You don't have to do that. If you aren't uncomfortable with being here, it doesn't bother me if you stay Brian. I think he is almost done anyway."
"OK." Brian replied taking a seat beside her. "Leighanne was always really sensitive about people watching her nurse. I didn't want to make you uncomfortable."
"All of the important parts are covered up." Samantha smiled. "And it is not like you are some stranger off the street. I don't nurse in public places where anyone can watch me, but I'm comfortable in my own home."
Brian nodded. "So how were the kids last night? I really appreciate you letting them spend the night."
"They were no trouble at all Brian! Bailey was a little fussy when I put her to bed but once she went to sleep, she slept the entire night."
"She doesn't even do that at home some nights!"
"Well, she played pretty hard yesterday and I couldn't get her to take a nap so she was probably exhausted!"
"Thanks again Sam!"
"Any time Brian."
Brian looked down at his hands. "Can I talk to you for a minute Sam?"
"Sure. Is something wrong Brian?"
"No." He hesitated. "I overheard a conversation in the market yesterday and I was just wondering if you could help me out a little bit."
Samantha stood up and walked over the baby's crib. "Fire away Brian." She replied placing the baby in his crib. She turned her back to Brian, removed the blanket from her shoulder and adjusted her shirt back into place. She walked back over and sat down in the chair beside him. "What's on your mind?"
