Chapter 89
Sasha took a deep breath and let it out slowly. "I think you are going to impose another condition on me."
"And that would be…?" Trevor prompted.
"You want me to tell Kelli why I am afraid of Eric."
"Bingo!" Trevor replied winking at her.
"Do I have to do that immediately?" She asked scrunching up her face.
Trevor thought for a moment. He knew it was important for Sasha to tell Kelli as soon as possible but he had to consider Sasha's current mental state. She needed a little more time to gain mental strength before she attempted to tell her sister about the more than 20 years of abuse by her brother. 'If Kelli doesn't believe her, it will devastate her.' He would allow her a temporary reprieve from that condition. "We will talk a few more times before you talk to Kelli."
Sasha breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you Trevor!" She arose from her chair and hugged him.
"Don't slip up Sasha." Trevor warned. "You never know when I'm going to ask to look at your arms, legs and stomach. If I see any new cuts or if the cuts on your legs look like you are not letting them heal, I will call Dr. Travers."
"I promise Trevor. I'll stick to your conditions." She solemnly stated. She looked from Trevor to Ben. "Thanks for listening to me."
"That's what we are here for Sasha. Remember that in the future."
Sasha nodded. "I will." She sighed. "I had better get some bandages on my legs and get to work. I'm sure Brian is wondering where I am."
Ben spoke for the first time in minutes. "If he asks about your SI, tell him the truth Sasha. From what you've said, I think he cares enough he'll want to help you."
"I don't know Ben. I think I will just play that one by ear." She shook her head. "I don't want him to be afraid of leaving the kids with me." She looked at him. "I would never hurt his kids. I'm not sure he would believe that though if he saw me right now."
"Just be careful Sasha. Lying to him isn't a good idea. You know him better than we do though. Use your best judgment."
Sasha turned to leave. "Thanks again guys. I'll see you on Saturday."
"10:00 a.m. OK with you?" Trevor asked.
"That's fine." Sasha nodded.
"Good luck kiddo." Trevor hugged her. "I have a feeling your life is just beginning."
Sasha smiled meekly and climbed into her car. "Thanks." She said as she closed the door. 'I hope Brian has forgotten what I said.' She thought as she headed for work.
