Behind Closed Doors

Chapter 96

"How did the move go Sasha?" Kelli inquired.

"I didn't know you were moving Alexandra." Eric interrupted. "I guess I'm not important enough for you to give your new address to."

"We moved the office Eric. I'm buying my house. I'm not going anywhere for quite awhile."

"That's good to know." He poured himself a glass of wine from the bottle Max had approved. "Would you care for some wine Sasha? It is white. I'm sure it will go with your chicken."

"No thank you. I think I will just stick to water this evening."

"I will have a little more. " Max stated taking the bottle from Eric. "Do you like your new office Sasha?"

"I love it! It is much closer to home and I don't have to deal with freeway traffic or toll roads!" She laughed. "I really hope Brian decides to keep the office where it is now."

"Where did this wonderful boss of yours move his office to?" Eric asked sipping his wine.

"Out to his estate. There is a separate house behind the main house. He networked his office in the house to the new office so he can work from the house or the office as needed."

"How convenient for him."

"It was a smart move. He eliminated the need for daycare and now he can be more involved in his kids' lives since he'll be there when they get home from school."

"Who needs daycare when he has you right? Free daycare courtesy of his 'private' secretary."

"What are you implying Eric?" Max inquired.

"Please Max. We all know Sasha is scre…" He paused and looked at Brad, deciding it best to change his sentence in the presence of the young boy. "We all know Sasha is more than Brian's secretary."

"I'll say she is!" Kelli said. "I subbed for her one morning and I had no clue where to even begin! Brian relies heavily on her to help him out now that the business is his alone."

"Yes, I'm sure Brian relies on Sasha for many things now that he no longer has a wife."

The arrival of the waiter with their food rescued Sasha from further caustic comments about what Eric assumed was her relationship with Brian. She was thankful she had ordered the smaller portion. She knew there was no way she would have been able to force down an entire entrée.
