I spent a week in CA for the remaining shows of the fall tour. Originally, for the summer tour, I had tickets to Tacoma, Vancouver and Los Angeles. After Alex went to rehab and all of the dates were shuffled, Tacoma and Los Angeles were cancelled and replaced with Boise and Chula Vista. I had tickets to both of those shows. After 9/11, Chula Vista was cancelled so the guys could do the tribute shows in New York. In other words, I had tickets to the only 3 concerts the guys wound up canceling! I was bummed before the shows, thinking I was having rotten BSB luck but…as you can see, COSMICKISMET is definitely a good description of my life! My friend Jennifer knew someone who wasn't going to be able to use their Devore tickets she bought those so we were still able to see the same number of shows we intended to in the first place. Overall I had a GREAT vacation! There is very little I would change. Very, very minor things maybe but nothing major. :o)
I picked up Jennifer (a.k.a 'the sickie') around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday to drive to Devore for the 1st show. I am driving along the road when my cellphone rings. I figured it was my mom or Cathy so I asked Jennifer to answer it. She had an interesting conversation that consisted of identifying herself to someone who hung up on her. LOL! The phone rang again so I answered it. It was MY Brian! He has been in San Diego for a couple of months. I talked to him about a month ago. I didn't expect him to remember I was coming to CA but he did! I was blown away! He asked me if I wanted to hook up on Sunday! I was SO excited! LMAO! Jennifer was like "Brian? How did Brian get your number?" Too many drugs there Jennifer...not THE Brian but MY Brian. Brian is a LONG, LONG story! :o)
The Devore show was OK but aside from seeing Aaron, Sarah & her mom (I think it was her mom), Pollyanna & her boyfriend (she was holding his hand) and Marcus' son, it was rather uneventful. They crammed the stage into an area half the size it needed and unless you were in the center section, you didn't get much action because the guys weren't really allowed on the wings I don't think! Kevin & Howard, heavily guarded by Carlos came out on to the speakers but they were the only ones who tried to get to the audience. Alex was really cute playing with Marcus' son all night and also in Bakersfield. Man does he look like his dad! Alex also dragged Aaron on to the stage, which really made me smile! I thought it was sweet! The cutest part though was Brian trying to carry Aaron OFF the stage! Aaron is a good 6" taller than Brian so it was quite a site! Brian handed him off to Nick who carried him to the side of the stage and kind of threw him back into his seat!
