"For upsetting you earlier. When I asked about your bracelet. I shouldn't have asked so many questions."

Samantha shook her head and smiled "You didn't upset me A.J. Not really." She shrugged "Sometimes, I just get a little lost in thought, I guess you could say, when I think about the people I have known who have passed away." She looked into his eyes and then quickly back down at his chest "It is no big deal."

"I am not going to push you to talk to me Sam, but if you have gone to the trouble to have 3 sets initials and dates inscribed on the bracelet, then it is a big deal." He kissed her forehead. "I'm always willing to listen if you ever need to talk Sam."

Samantha looked at the ground between she and A.J. 'What do I say him? Do I tell him who the people on the bracelet were?' She bit her lip and then looked up at A.J. "I wear the bracelet as a reminder to myself, to be careful. To use my head and to not make stupid mistakes." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Slowly she said "Anyone can become infected with AIDS at any time. Everyone needs to be aware and to make smart decisions." She shook her head again and looked back to A.J. "Just because you don't hear the warnings as much as you used to, doesn't mean the threat isn't still there."

A.J. looked at Samantha as the song came to an end. 'She is speaking as a regular person there. Not as a doctor. Something tells me she has seen more of this disease than I ever want to know about.' He walked her over to where Howie was standing talking to Pollyanna and his parents. "I understand Sam. Just for the record, I practice safe sex."

Samantha couldn't hold back the fit of laughter that overtook her. "That's good to know Bone! I am happy to hear you practice what I preach!" She reached up and kissed him on the cheek "But you really didn't have to tell me that!"

"Well...you know...I just thought...I'd let you know...well you know. I don't want my initials to wind up on your bracelet."

"Thanks A.J. I don't want your initials to wind up on my bracelet either. Frankly, I don't think there is room!" she teased.

A.J. smiled and presented her back to Howie. He kissed her on the cheek and said "Thank you Samantha. You are a delightful dance partner!"

"And you Bone, definitely have a unique way with words!"

A.J. bowed. "Hey Pollyanna. Wanna dance?"

"That depends." she replied hiding her laughter "Can you Salsa?"

"I can try!" A.J. replied laughing and extending his hand to her.
