Chapter 5

Howie went out into the living room and dropped a CD into the stereo. He hit the button marked House and pressed play. Within seconds music could be heard in every room.

Samantha whipped off her dress and stepped out of her shoes. She quickly washed off the little make-up she had been wearing. She reached into her bag and pulled out a T-shirt and a pair of boxer shorts. As she slipped them on, the music she had been hearing caught her attention.

'What a beautiful love song!' Samantha thought as she folded her dress and stuck it inside her bag. 'I have to ask Howie who sings it. I really like it.' She opened the door and found Howie was not in the room. She set her bag down on a chair and padded out to find him. She could tell Howie had been right when he said he had not been home very much lately. The carpet under her feet felt like it had just been laid. She loved the springy feel when she walked on it! As Samantha began her room to room search for Howie another song began. She was immediately drawn in to the lyrics of it as well.

Samantha found Howie in the kitchen. "Close your eyes!" Howie commanded before she could step into the kitchen. "Part of your surprise is in here!"

"OK! My eyes are closed! I won't ask any questions if you will just tell me what the name of the CD we are listening to is." Samantha said grinning.

Howie remained silent for a moment. He looked at Samantha. She was wearing a plain T-shirt and a pair of flannel boxers. She had on no make-up. 'She is so natural. I love her. I just plain love her.' he thought to himself as he took Samantha's hands and guided her from the kitchen into the living room.

"I will tell you the name of the group as well as the titles of the songs but you have to give me an opinion of another song first OK?" Howie asked choosing a new track on the CD.

Samantha smiled and replied with a slight giggle "I know the group! I just want to know the titles and the release date please. I still want to hear the song you have cued though."

Howie pushed the play button and walked over to Samantha. "Will you dance with me?" he asked holding out his arms to her.

Samantha practically leaped into Howie's open arms. Howie pulled her tightly to him and slowly danced her around the room.

Samantha lifted her head up from where it had been resting on Howie's shoulder. "Howie this is beautiful! That is you singing isn't it? You have an incredible voice!"

Howie kissed her and replied "Thank you! Yes it is me! Kevin and I have a few more solos on this album. Kevin even wrote one of the songs. It is called Back to Your Heart Brian and A.J. do most of the vocals on it. It is a beautiful song."
