Chapter 6
When the music ended Howie embraced Samantha in a tight hug and kissed her passionately, probing the deep recesses of her mouth. Breaking away he whispered "I am so glad you are here. I love you Samantha."
Samantha smiled and bit her lip. "I am so glad I am here to hun. As silly as it may seem, I really missed you this week!" She kissed him lightly on the lips and asked "So are those songs from your new CD?"
"I don't think it is silly at all that you missed me! I missed you to sweetie." he said kissing her again. "And in answer to your question-possibly" Howie replied. "We haven't set the tracks yet. We are still deciding which ones we want to use. The first song you heard was No One Else Comes Close To You, the second one was I Want It That Way which is going to the first single off the new CD, but I am not sure which version we are going to use." he paused and took Samantha's hand leading her back toward the bedroom. "We have 2 versions of the song" he explained as he opened the door. "One version was written by Max Martin, the other version was re-written by us 5 guys. The last song you heard was Spanish Eyes. We are not sure if we are going to put it on the album, which is why I wanted your opinion. Do you like it?" He asked as he lead Samantha into the room.
"It is beautiful Howie!" Samantha exclaimed her heart racing at the realization they were back in the bedroom. "I think it is a very romantic song! After listening to those 3 songs, I can really tell Nick has done quite a bit of growing between the last album and this one. I think your fans are really going to like the maturity."
"OK. I will count you as a YES vote on Spanish Eyes! And yes, I think the fans are going to see we have all matured, especially Nick. He is not Nicky anymore." he replied smiling at her with a mischievous grin on his face. "Are you ready for your surprise?" he inquired.
Samantha giggled nervously "I guess I am...I am just wondering what you have planned. You have been very mysterious since I arrived." she said raising her eyebrows at him.
Howie smiled and rolled his eyebrows back at her. "The mystery is just about to grow!" he said with a slight laugh. He went over to a drawer and pulled out a blindfold. He handed it to Samantha and explained "I use this to block out light when I am trying sleep on the bus but I thought it might be fun to play a game and have YOU wear it."
"Just what do you have planned Howie?" Samantha asked wrinkling her eyebrows with a slight edge of worry.
Howie reached down and kissed her. "Don't worry I am not going to hurt you! Last week you said something about having a "food texture" fetish or something to that effect. For some reason it stuck in my mind." he said with a shrug before continuing "When I was out shopping for groceries I came up with a little game I thought we could play involving the 5 senses." He looked at Samantha "Do you want to try it?"
Samantha hesitated for a moment then replied "Do you promise not to feed me anything green like green beans or peas or anything you found in the back of your refrigerator left over from your last tour?"
"All of the food is fresh." Howie replied laughing. "Remember I said 5 senses so not everything is edible!" He added with a huge grin.
Samantha bit her lip and smiled "OK. It sounds like fun...sort of..."
Howie's face lit up. "Oh cool!" he exclaimed "You put on the blindfold and I will bring everything in here. I promise it won't hurt!" He added as he left the room.
Samantha slipped on the blindfold and silently wondered what she had gotten herself into!
