Chapter 80

Tears formed in Samantha's eyes when she pulled the card from the envelope. On the front of the card was a pale blue image of a man and a woman smiling between kisses.

She opened the card to find another pale image of a couple holding hands and the words

Under the words of the card, Howard had added words of his own. Tears fell from Samantha's eyes as she read what he had written.

Samantha sat down on the bed and wiped her eyes with her fingers. 'Oh Howard…' she thought. 'How is it possible, that I find myself loving you more now than I did 5 minutes ago?' She pulled back the covers on the bed and lay down on her side, pulling the blankets up to her waist. She read the card again as more tears of joy poured from her eyes. She blinked a few times and then fell asleep, still holding the card.
